domain name idea ~ race the downhill are lyrics from tori amos' song 'carbon' on her album 'scarlet's walk.' i felt it was very appropriate for me.

Next she meets up with the manic depressive CARBON. They travel through the Black Hills of Dakota and to Wounded Knee, scene of one of the darkest episodes in Native American history. "All Carbon wants is to disintegrate into nothingness. So its an extremely destructive story. Just as people risked their lives to keep their sacred land, a meltdown is about to happen in her life and a waltz into insanity is on the horizon. She's on this downhill race in her mind and Scarlet has to get to her before she kills herself." They end up in a ski resort - Bear Claw, Free Fall and Gunner's View in the song are all ski runs. But for Carbon the normal parameters and boundaries have ceased to apply and given way to self-mutilation and an urge to plunge over the cliff. Scarlet walks into this madness, but the outcome is left unresolved. ~ from scarlet's walk bio found at hereinmyhead.com

I began making web sites in the seventh grade. They were very simplistic, created with WYSIWYG editors. Then I moved up to geocities when I learned how to use HTML. I used to be hosted by another Tori fan. Her web site was http://twinkles.nu. When she closed her web site, I moved over to my own domain. Sometimes I wish I didn't put the dashes in the address, but I thought it makes it easier to read.

I always wanted to make fan sites. But making a fan site for Tori Amos would be ridiculous being that there are hundreds, and a couple of them are very, very good. They're updated daily with the most minute of details. The two that are popping into my head right now are hereinmyhead.com and yessaid.com. There was no way I could compete with those sites. I did have a site dedicated to shirley Manson, Gwen Stefani, and Courtney Love, but I let that one go after I started listening to different styles of music. I decided to make sites for The Hush Sound, The Dresden Dolls, and Smith and Pyle because there are so few sites online for them. I thought I could maybe make a dent in the interweb and be a place that other fans flock to.
